100 Best Companies to Work For 2015: Midsize Companies
June 26, 2015
#1: Summit Imaging
Summit Imaging began in 2006 as a garage project of Lawrence Nguyen, who recognized the demand for fast, reliable servicing of ultrasound equipment. Nguyens company has since grown to become a leading provider of ultrasound equipment service and repair. The Woodinville firm serves clients across the globe and now employs more than 40 technicians and customer service support staffers.
Nicci Valiquette, Summits director of business development, was drawn away from Microsoft by Summits merit-based, enterprising spirit. We promote people here strictly on merit, Valiquette says. We value this innovative, young startup mentality, and we keep that culture with everything we do.
The fact that Summit also offers well-above-average pay and benefits certainly doesnt drive prospects away. Neither does the annual company vacation three days at Sun Mountain Resort, with families included, where everyone has fun and no one talks about work.
With its satisfied workforce and strong business model, its easy to picture Summit Imaging on the (figurative) top of the heap.
Founded in 2007 by former Microsoft employee Geeman Yip, BitTitan offers cloud-based content migration and onboarding services for clients seeking to upgrade their IT services. The firms Kirkland headquarters is devoid of office walls and features an on-site gym, a spacious social hall and an ultramodern video wall. Throughout, theres a top-down emphasis on work/life balance including excellent benefits and a spirit of camaraderie that has BitTitans employees raving.
Best leadership group on the planet! wrote one BitTitan staffer. (The) benefits are amazing and
communication is always open.
#3: The Spur Group
A strategic consulting and business services firm based in Redmond, The Spur Group has tackled projects for Dell, Starbucks, Juniper Networks and a technology company across the street. (That would be Microsoft.) Spurs 60 employees work in a fast-paced environment but are rewarded with generous benefits (including fully funded medical and dental premiums for spouses and dependents) and a leadership group that places a priority on employee growth.
[The Spur Groups leaders] support, train and care for each of the employees as if we were family, one employee wrote. It is a fantastic team to be a part of.
