Facebook’s software model and devices like the iPad will leave Amazon in the dust argues Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff in a blog on Tech Crunch.

” Its not about typing or clicking; its about touching. Its not about text, or even animation, its about video,” writes Benioff. “Its not about repurposing old software, its about writing everything from scratch (because you want to take advantage of the awesome potential of the new computers and the new cloudand because you have to reach this pinnacle. Finally, the industry is fun again.”

Benioff argues that we are moving from Cloud 1, in which Amazon was a key mover, to Cloud 2, in which Facebook will be the fundamental platform. What do you think?
