Washington’s IT Departments have Hiring Plans for Q3
By Seattle Business Magazine June 10, 2011
A net six percent of CIOs in the Pacific region plan to hire IT staff in the third quarter, according to the Robert Half Technology IT Hiring Index & Skills Report. This is two points above the national average. In fact, Washington is forecast to be one of the top states in the nation for IT hiring in Q3. Seven percent of executives plan to add IT staff and just one percent expect cutbacks. Nationwide, the same percent are planning to expand their IT departments, but 3 percent said they planned to cut back. Of the 1400 CIOs across the country with more than 100 employees that the company talked to by telephone, 87 percent said they were confident in their companies’ growth prospects over the next three months.
In an effort to recognize the important role IT playes in our economy, Seattle Business magazine recently launched the Washington IT Awards. Nominate your company or a company you work with by filling out an entry here.
