Roy Hummell

Roy Hummell has joined Stantec as a principal scientist in its environmental services practice in Bellevue. He will help implement a national sediment assessment and remediation program.

 

With more than 20 years of experience in the assessment and management of hazardous substances, Hummell has successfully led many large, complex investigations. His technical skills and testimony experience include chemometrics, biometry, analytical chemistry, human health/ecological risk analyses, wildlife biology/toxicology, natural resource damage assessment, environmental impact statements, endangered species assessments and pollutant transport modeling. He has provided environmental solutions to the pulp and paper industry, chemical manufacturing industry, mining and smelting industry, petrochemical companies, municipalities, state health and regulatory agencies, the U.S. EPA, and the U.S. Department of Defense. Recent efforts have included representation of Fortune 500 companies on the Fox River, Passaic River and Portland Harbor Superfund sediment remediation projects. Hummell is currently Stantec’s project manager for the Holden Mine Remediation, the largest remediation that has occurred on Forest Service Land.

 

Hummell received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a Newcastle resident.
