Robert Hutchison

Robert Hutchison, prolific Seattle architect and Affiliate Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Architecture, and as won the 2016-2017 Rome Prize; arguably the top art and design award in the U.S. Specializing in jewel-like residences, Robert’s recent work includes Courtyard House on a River—a residence that pays homage to the Northwest’s dense forests and its natural landscape along the White River in the shadow of famed Mt. Rainer. Additionally, his newly completed Cantilever House, overlooks Portage Bay in Montlake, one of Seattle’s most dense urban neighborhoods—a light-filled home that opens to the water for panoramic views and an interior that balances cool minimalism with warm Northwest wood accents.
