Rachel McCracken Joins The Rainier Group as Portfolio Manager
McCracken to Serve as Investment Policy Committee Member and Support Firm’s Business Development Efforts in New Role
Bellevue, Wash. – May 2, 2016 – Business management consulting firmThe Rainier Group (www.rainiergroup.com) today announced that experienced investment professional Rachel McCracken has joined the firm as Portfolio Manager.
“With a diverse background in wealth management and management consulting, Rachel is well-suited for her new role,” said The Rainier Group Managing Director Mark Pellegrino. “Her deep industry experience and knowledge are a great asset to our growing firm and we’re thrilled that she’s joined our team.”
As Portfolio Manager, McCracken will draw upon 15 years’ experience in private wealth management and management consulting to serve The Rainier Group’s current book of clients. She will also support business development efforts alongside the firm’s existing consultants, and serve as a member of the Investment Policy Committee in The Rainier Group’s investment decision-making arm.
Prior to joining the firm, McCracken held roles at wealth management and consulting firms in New York and Seattle, including Investment Associate, Client Analyst and Operating Officer. She has previously worked with clients whose net-worth ranged from $4 million to $1 billion, and helped launch WorldInc., a business book about companies remaking their futures through social response.
Certified through the North American Securities Administrator Association (NASAA)’s Series 65 exam, McCracken has also passed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) program and is preparing to sit for Level III in June 2016.
With a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY, McCracken was the sole recipient of the school’s Award of Excellence in Finance. McCracken also received a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish from State University of New York at Albany in Albany, NY.
A native of Chicago, Ill., McCracken currently resides in Seattle, Wash. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and traveling, running and rock climbing. She is fluent in French and conversational in Spanish, and tutors French. Previously, she served as Treasurer of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Saratoga Springs.
