Kanami Fujita
Semiahmoo Resort, Golf, and Spa has named Kanami Fujita as its new director of sales. Fujita has worked in the hospitality industry for over 17 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge to Semiahmoo. She officially joined the team in May 2017 and oversees the Resort’s group business which includes guestrooms, meetings and events such as receptions and weddings, as well as convention services.
Before arriving at Semiahmoo, Fujita served as director of sales and marketing for Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham Hotel and Conference Center. Prior to that position, she was director of sales and marketing at Hilton Seattle. She has also held senior sales and marketing positions at several hotels in Seattle and throughout California, including Kimpton Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara and Grand Hyatt San Francisco.
“Kanami brings extensive experience to Semiahmoo, and we are thrilled to have her leading our sales team,” said Christopher Hutsen, resort manager at Semiahmoo. “Her background will lend itself to enhancing our growing meetings and events sector, and the overall guest experience at Semiahmoo.”
Fujita began her career in the hospitality industry as a sales manager for the Grand Hyatt in Taipei, Taiwan, and has continued to work with high-profile hotels around the world.

Originally from Japan, Fujita graduated with a BA in commerce and marketing from the University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences in Kobe, Japan. She currently resides in Bellingham and enjoys exploring the region.
