get overlooked in favor of fast companies, here and gone in the space of a

magazine is inaugurating the Washington Family Business Awards: A business that
can be passed down from generation to generation, keeping its core values
intact, deserves to be celebrated. As does the family that so often ties its
fortunes to its business. These are companies with deep roots and strong ties
to their communities.
