Olympia, Redmond and Sammamish are among the top 50 cities in the United States in which to launch a small business.

GoVerizon.com analyzed the financial climate of nearly 300 cities across the country, considering population, education, commute times, income and loans per capita and other metrics to determine the top cities in which to start a small business.

Olympia ranked No. 19. Redmond was No. 25 and Sammamish placed No. 44.

GoVerizon noted that while major metro areas still power economic growth across the country, avoiding the chaos and competition of large cities and planting roots in a quieter, equally industrious pocket of the country puts your business in a uniquely advantageous position.

The top five cities are all in Utah or Florida. Logan, Utah, which is home to Utah State University, ranked No. 1, while South Jordan a Salt Lake City suburb was No. 4. Florida cities Sarasota, Coral Gables and Doral were Nos. 2, 3 and 5, respectively.

Two Oregon cities Corvallis and Tigard also made the list.
