David Stahnke

David Stahnke has joined Stantec as a plumbing designer to provide expertise in pre-CD construction design and documents for the firm’s mechanical design practice. With 40 years of experience, his role supports Stantec’s regional initiative to grow the full-service mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design and engineering practice in the Northwest. Stahnke is located in the Seattle, WA office.

Stahnke has had a long, comprehensive career in plumbing. He was directly involved in the development of 3D modeling and coordination in the construction industry. He has educated others in the field as a “journeyman and apprentice instructor,” and worked with Renton Technical College to help develop degree programs for plumbing apprentices and journeymen.

“Dave brings a unique blend of plumbing, detailing, and design experience to Stantec’s mechanical design practice,” says Orion Morrissey, principal. “Dave’s previous roles as a plumbing journeyman and detailer provides a solid foundation for his role as a plumbing designer.  Dave’s plumbing designs are rooted in constructability and cost effectiveness which provide our clients with efficient plumbing systems.  We are very fortunate to have Dave as a member of Stantec’s mechanical design practice.”

At a previous post, Stahnke worked on the Swedish First Hill Medical Center Expansion, also a Stantec supported project. Currently, he is working on Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV, and on an Intel project in Hillsboro, OR.

Stahnke is a member of the United Association (UA) Local 32—Plumbers and Pipefitters and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).
