In the midst of challenging trends, both short-term (the economy) and long-term (electronic communications and the “paperless” office), Grays Harbor Paper actually increased 2009 sales by 1.5 percent. One marketing edge: its emphasis as a green producer of office papers, from heavy use of recycled fiber to reduced energy consumption and recycling wastewater solids as a fertilizer for local farms.
