A Ticking Clock Over in Redmond

It the end, it’s not Windows Vista, or Zune, or any other bungled consumer product that may spell doom for Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. But a stock that’s fallen nearly 50 percent since he took over in 2000? Cue the ominous music. The Daily Beast has an interesting article that reports on the increasingly vocal grumbling over in Redmond among some senior managers, many of whom have most of their wealth tied up in the flagging Microsoft stock. Is a coup in the works? Hard to say, even by the insiders the Beast talks to. But the drums are getting louder.
