Ridwell Wants Your Campaign Signs
Seattle company offers free pick-up after the election
By Rob Smith October 30, 2024
We’ve all seen campaign signs remain up well after election season. Ridwell is out to do something about that.
The Seattle-based recycling company — a certified B-Corp — is for the first time offering free doorstep pick-up of campaign signs for any household in the company’s service area, even for non-customers.
Most campaign signs are recyclable, but the reality is that not all campaigns have a plan to dispose of them. The verve in persuading voters to display a sign is often missing once election season ends. It’s estimated that tens of millions of plastic signs have already been created, but Ridwell says almost none will be properly recycled. Throwing them in the garbage is harmful to the environment.
Visit get.ridwell.com/yardsign to find out when the company will be in a particular neighborhood to schedule a free pickup. Ridwell services these areas: Bainbridge, Edmonds, Everett, Lake Stevens, Northeast Seattle, Redmond, Ballard, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Wallingford and Snohomish.
