Juicy news about Starbucks
By Seattle Business Magazine October 14, 2011
The power of a protein smoothie, with the ubiquity of a
coffee giants distribution network: Starbucks is rumored to be introducing
juices to its lineup, having just hired Manhattan juice bar queen Yohana
Bencosme.
A move back into beverages would be good news for a company
that has in years past strayed from its proven home turf into food items like
breakfast sandwiches. While CEO Howard Schultz temporarily discontinued the
breakfast sandwiches in 2008 and retrained all of his baristas on how to pull
the perfect espresso, jumping into juice seems like a natural next step for
Starbucks, which is trading strongly at over $40 a share.
An MSN Money story on the rumored juices can be found here.
