Rachael Brister
Rachael Brister has 18 years of experience in marketing and planning, and has been working in the LGBT community for almost 20 years. She got her start as the director of the Rochester Lesbian & Gay Film Festival in Rochester, NY just after graduating college. In 2004, Rachael moved to Seattle to become executive director of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, the organization that produces The Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, The Seattle Transgender Film Festival and other film events throughout the year.
In 2012, Rachael accepted the position of vice president of marketing & tourism for the Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA), the largest LGBT Chamber of Commerce in the US. At GSBA, Rachael directed all of the marketing and promotion for GSBA, GSBA’s Scholarship Fund and GSBA’s LGBT Tourism Initiative: Travel Gay Seattle. Prior to joining GSBA’s staff, Rachael served on the organization’s Board of Directors for over five years.
Rachael spends much of her volunteer time focused on the Capitol Hill (Seattle) neighborhood and community. She has served on the Cal Anderson Park Alliance for the past two years (now its current President). For the past five years, Rachael has been a member of the Capitol Hill Champion, a group that advocates for the incorporation of community goals in the redevelopment on top of Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail Capitol Hill Station. Rachael recently joined the Board of Directors of PrideFest, the nonprofit organization that produces Seattle PrideFest, the largest free Pride Festival in the country.
