If Paul Allen owns something like, say, a movie theater, you can bet its going to be the best, most newfangled theater in all the land. Case in point: His 1960s-era, saved-from-demolition Seattle Cinerama in Belltown plans to install the worlds first commercial digital laser projector in early 2014. The machine has a light output of 60,000 lumens, which translates into films of more clarity and color accuracy than ever before. Anyone worried about being blinded on the way to the concession stand neednt fear. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which regulates all laser-emitting products, has deemed this one safe for humans.
