Pick-Quick hiring 50 in Auburn
By Seattle Business Magazine December 13, 2010
Pick-Quick, a family-owned burger drive-in that has been in business in Fife since 1949, is opening a second location in Auburn. The company is hiring up to 50 employees for the restaurant, according to a press release.
“Flipping burgers” has long been a euphemism for working a low-paying, dead-end job. However, like Dick’s Drive-In in the Seattle area, Pick-Quick offers benefits to its employees, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance to all employees who work 30 or more hours per week. These jobs could also be good news for those people who do not have a college degree or high school diploma, for whom the unemployment rate is significantly higher than the average. Auburn lies between King and Pierce Counties, where the unemployment rate is 8.5 percent.
Applications are available at the restaurant at 1132 Auburn Way North from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays beginning Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010.
