In more than three decades as a journalist, I’ve never yelled “stop the press.” But I will say “hot off the press,” which leads me to the new issue of Seattle magazine.

In our March/April issue, we continue on our mission to elevate and celebrate Seattle’s position as a world-class city by emphasizing one of our unique strengths: our neighborhoods. We take a look at nine rapidly evolving neighborhoods and suburbs, and break down all the exciting things happening across the city that create a special sense of purpose and place.

The issue also examines the importance of the WNBA Seattle Storm’s new basketball facility in the Interbay neighborhood, and why basketball is only a small part of this community-building effort.

Our spring arts preview takes a comprehensive look at performances across the city, and our resident historian, Brad Holden, recalls the popular and quirky world of cable-access TV in the 90s in an interview with multi-media artist Shannon Kringen, known as “Goddess Kring.”

We’ll roll out these and other stories in a slow dribble on our website, seattlemag.com, in the next month. In the meantime, grab a copy off the newsstand or, if you want to be in the know in real time, subscribe here.
