Key Compounding Pharmacy, Federal Way
Pharmaceuticals don’t have to be produced by the millions in one-size-fits-all formulas. They can be customized to match patients’ specific ailments. That’s the business of Key Compounding, which has grown to 40 employees and now distributes medicines across most of the United States. While compounding is the way pharmacists used to prepare medicines, Key Compounding marries the method with modern technology, turning out doses in forms that aren’t commercially available and combining compatible medicines to make it easier for patients to consume. The company has been around since 1963 but made the transition from general pharmacy supplier to compounding around 2000.
