Debora Ashland
Studio Meng Strazzara today announces the recent addition of public projects expert Debora Ashland to the team. With 30 years of experience, Debora will be leading a number of the firm’s public projects in her role as Director and Project Architect. Studio Meng Strazzara is a Seattle-based architecture and design firm specializing in transportation, infrastructure, K-12 and higher education and commercial projects.
Debora comes to Studio Meng Strazzara after 18 years at Sound Transit, the last six as Director of Architecture and Art. She brings to her new role the ability to lead multi-million dollar public projects and to coordinate and manage large, complex teams. While at Sound Transit, Ashland oversaw more than $2.5 billion of architecture-related transportation work. Debora also brings experience in construction and knowledge of alternative public procurements such as general contractor/construction management (GCCM) and Design-Build (DB). Prior to her tenure at Sound Transit, she was employed at the Edmonds School District Capital Projects Office supporting a facilities improvement bond.
Debora is a registered Architect in Washington State, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction. Ashland received her Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University and is a Seattle native.
