David Flegel
Hyatt Regency Lake Washington welcomes David Flegel to his position as Executive Chef and Gerald Gutierrez as Chef de Cuisine at Water’s Table – A Lakeside Kitchen & Bar, the hotel’s signature restaurant in Renton’s Southport.
As Executive Chef, Flegel will spearhead all the hotel’s dining offerings including Water’s Table as well as private dining, special events, and the property’s retail grab-and-go offerings. Part of the Hyatt’s culinary team since 1995, Chef Flegel comes from Hyatt Regency Calgary where he served as Executive Chef for 12 years. While in Calgary, he received Chef of the Year for Hyatt Hotels mid-sized properties. His past Hyatt experience also includes the Grand Hyatt Santiago, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, and Hyatt Regency Saipan.
“I am excited to be part of Hyatt Regency Lake Washington and the dynamic Pacific Northwest food scene,” says Chef Flegel. “We will continue to feature locally sourced ingredients, including the freshest seafood, with some surprises. Diners should expect great things to come out of our kitchen this summer!”
Also new to his position is Gerald Gutierrez, Chef de Cuisine. Gerald will work under the leadership of Executive Chef Flegel and will be responsible for kitchen operations at the 236-seat Water’s Table. Gerald joined Hyatt in February 2016 as Culinary Supervisor at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue and transferred to Hyatt Regency Lake Washington as Sous Chef to be a part of the opening team in spring of 2017. He was recently promoted to the position of Chef de Cuisine.
Water’s Table showcases Northwest-inspired Pan-Asian cuisine and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and weekend brunch. Year-round indoor and outdoor seating is available, including the restaurant’s luxurious terrace overlooking Lake Washington, Gene Coulon Park and the Olympic Mountains.
