Dana Nelson-Peterson
Dana Nelson-Peterson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, the associate chief nursing officer at Virginia Mason Medical Center since 2015, has been promoted to vice president of Nursing.
She joined the organization as a staff nurse in 1987. Among the many roles she has held include house supervisor, nursing manager, administrative director and associate chief nursing officer – a position she will continue to hold as vice president of Nursing.
In addition to her work and leadership at Virginia Mason, Nelson-Peterson is an adjunct professor at the Seattle University School of Nursing and president of the Wesley Health & Home Care Board of Directors. She also serves on the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commisson.
She received a doctorate degree in Nursing Practice in Health Systems Administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville and a master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Washington.
