Starting his career at the classical Dubrulle French Culinary School in Vancouver Canada, Chef Thomas travelled and worked from Bermuda to Sydney, Australia, London, England and Florida before settling in Minnesota to raise a family. Here Thomas began his management positions at one of the Nation’s premier Golf Courses advancing to become the Executive Chef at the Minnesota Zoo and Science Museum, handling events of up to 7,000 people.
His reputation garnered him an exclusive position of Executive Chef to the Governor of Minnesota. Chef Thomas was responsible for the entire residence’s culinary needs ranging from State dinners to the personal dining and entertaining of the Pawlenty family.
During his tenure at the Governor’s mansion, Chef Thomas and his wife owned and ran the highly successful Rose Arbor “Bed and Dinner” Inn. A stint with Regions Hospital Minnesota headed Chef Alexander back to the large-scale catering world and until his exciting, new job with Motif Seattle, Thomas was the Executive Personal Chef to the Polhad Family of the Minnesota Twins and held executive positions at both Target Center, MN and Century Link Field, Seattle.
Happy to return to his roots in the Pacific Northwest, Chef Thomas is excited about the amazing local produce, small suppliers and farm to table cuisine for which the Seattle area is so well known.
