WNBAs Seattle Storm Names Alisha Valavanis CEO
Valavanis, who joined the Storm in 2014, will also serve as chief executive of Force Management, the company that owns the club.

Alisha Valavanis is the new CEO of the WNBA champion Seattle Storm.
Valavanis will remain general manager, positions she has held since 2015. The Storm hasnt had a CEO since Karen Bryant retired in 2014. Valavanis joined the club in 2014 as chief operating officer and was promoted to GM and president one year later.
Valavanis will also become CEO of Force Management, which owns and operates the Storm.
The Storm has performed very well as a business since Valavanis joined the club. The team said revenue has soared more than 60 percent during her tenure, while profits have skyrocketed more than 250 percent.
Alisha has been an amazing leader for our organization and we are thrilled to be able to recognize her success with this promotion, said Lisa Brummel, co-owner for the Seattle Storm and Force 10 Sports Management.
The Storm will play home games this season at Alaska Air Arena on the University of Washington campus and Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett while KeyArena is being rebuilt. The season begins May 25 with a home game at Angel of the Winds against the Phoenix Mercury, whom the Storm defeated in the Western Conference finals last year.
