Getting around the bustling South Lake Union neighborhood can be difficult for both residents and an increasing number of tech workers. A new website is out to change that.
Commute Seattle, the city Department of Transportation and the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce have launched the Lets Go South Lake Union website that details all available transportation options in the neighborhood, including public transit, walking and bicycling. The site will offer tips to employers and property managers to reduce congestion.
Lets Go SLU will be vital tool for employers to share with new employees as they learn how to commute into the area, says Danah Abarr, director of the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce.
More than 50,000 people work and live in the growing neighborhood, which is home to Amazon headquarters and an array of other tech companies.
For the last two years, weve been working to educate employers and property managers in South Lake Union about transportation options, Commute Seattle Executive Director Kevin Futhey says.
