Two of the biggest names in professional sports, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and former New York Yankees and Seattle Mariner slugger Alex Rodriguez, are partnering with two Seattle-area businessmen to bring the TruFusion fitness and yoga franchise to the Washington market.
The group plans to open more than 10 TruFusion outlets statewide over the next few years. An initial location is set to open in Bellevue early this year, with two additional outlets planned for the Seattle area this summer.
The TruFusion studios, each about 10,000 square feet, feature a range of fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, boxing, circuits, kettlebell and more, allowing members to customize their experience based on the interests and fitness level, according to a press announcement about the franchise expansion.
Mind, body and soul are the ingredients for success, Russell said. Ive always believed in making health and fitness a priority in life, as well as opening your mind to positive and limitless thoughts. This studio inspires you to put in the work to achieve your goals.
Joining Wilson and Rodriguez in the ownership group for the Washington franchises are local entrepreneurs Taryn Naidu, former CEO of internet domain-name services company Rightside Group, which he sold two years ago; and Scott Swerland, who operates more than 90 retail locations, including Urban Float and Seattle Sun Tan outlets. The financial commitment wasnt released.
The monthly membership rate for TruFusion studios is $179 a month, according to the company. TruFusion currently operates locations nationwide, including in Scottsdale, Arizona; Coral Gables, Florida; St. Louis; and Las Vegas, where the company was launched in 2013.
