California-based supplements maker Metagenics employs about 200 people at its Gig Harbor campus a five-building, 100,000-square-foot complex housing manufacturing, operations and R&D. Founded in 1983, Metagenics produces nutritional supplements, medical foods and lifestyle programs to help people achieve their health goals.

It became a subsidiary of Alticor Inc. in 2009 and employs more than 1,000 persons worldwide, generating more than $330 million in global sales last year. Italy, South Africa and Taiwan are among its strongest international markets.
