Announcing the 2013 Executive Excellence Awards

Seattle Business magazine today announced creation of the Executive Excellence Awards to recognize exceptional senior executives and inspirational leaders in Washington state.
The program is being launched in partnership with Towers Watson, the Executive Education programs in the Albers School of Business & Economics at Seattle University, AmericanWest Bank and Leadership Tomorrow. The inaugural awards will be presented at a gala event in January 2013.
Nominations are now being accepted in the following categories:
Chief Executive Officer: Recognizes executives who have demonstrated vision, integrity and outstanding execution. Specific measurement criteria include growth, profitability, innovation, sustainable workforce, accountability and civic contribution.
Chief Financial Officer: Highlights the executive in charge of a companys finances. Judging criteria include growth and profitability improvements over time, transformational business transactions such as spinoffs or acquisitions, fiscal operational excellence (risk management, treasurer, IT and operations), and ethical leadership.
Chief Human Resources Officer: Recognizes human resources executives who have made exceptional contributions to their organizations this year. Criteria include exemplifying strategic HR leadership, being a force for positive change, and creating high workplace engagement.
General Counsel: Acknowledges the role of the chief legal officer as a strategic adviser in corporate governance, compliance, risk management and mergers and acquisitions. Judging criteria may include successful transactions completed, management of costs, ethics and legal leadership.
Chief Revenue Officer: Recognizes the top executive in charge of increasing revenues. Executives with such titles as vice president or director of sales may be considered. Judging criteria include significant sales, new market growth, team leadership and a consistently strong record of revenue growth.
Nonprofit Executive: Honors the leadership of an executive who has successfully furthered the mission of the organization by providing vision, subject area knowledge, financial and management expertise and exemplary communications as evidenced by productive board members, active volunteers and talented staff.
Lifetime Achievement: Presented to a respected senior executive whose body of work has significantly improved the community and business environment in Washington. The nominee may be an active executive, a board member or retired. His/her leadership has created not only a stellar career in business but continues to provide inspiration around civic engagement.
