Nominations opened today for the 2012 Pivotal Leaders, which each year honors and connects the most important senior level executives and influencers in the Northwests cleantech economy. Nominations are open to anyone and are accepted online until April 10, 2012. The final Pivotal Leaders for 2012, selected from among the nominees, will be announced in late May.

After open nominations close, Pivotal Leaders are voted on by the nominees themselvesin effect, asking cleantech leaders to vote for the best of the best among them.

Pivotal Leaders was created to foster the cleantech economy in the Pacific Northwest, with the ultimate goal of growing more companies and adding jobs. According to the Brookings Institute, the size of the cleantech in 2009 was $739 billion, with growth to $2.2 trillion expected by 2020.

Those chosen as Pivotal Leaders each year become part of a regionwide network, connecting with executives at a series of educational and professional events throughout the year.
