Publisher’s Series: An Inclusive Workplace
By Seattle Business Magazine February 19, 2015
Seattle Business magazine hosted a conversation with Randy Lewis and Tom Everill on the subject of an Inclusive Workplace. Randy Lewis is a former Senior Vice President of Walgreens, a Fortune 50 executive and an accidental advocate. Randy introduced an inclusive model in Walgreens distribution centers that resulted in ten percent of its workforce consisting of people with disabilities who are held to the same standards as those without disabilities. Tom Everill is the President and CEO of Northwest Center. Northwest Center is a leading social enterprise organization whose fundamental purpose is to work for inclusion and justice for people with developmental disabilities.
This enlightening conversation explores the astounding success of this Inclusive Workplace effort and what it means for all employers. For more information on what your Washington state company can do to be more inclusive, contact Jean Kantu at Northwest Center.
