Troy Black
Urban Renaissance Group (www.urbanrengroup.com) (URG) announced that it has named Troy Black Chief Financial Officer of URG and Touchstone.
As the company’s newly-appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Black will be responsible for financial operations and related strategy at URG and Touchstone. He currently serves as CFO at Seattle-based development firm Touchstone, which was acquired by URG in December 2014 and operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of URG.
With more than 25 years of experience in the financial and commercial real estate industries, Black previously worked in leadership positions across the commercial development, financial operations, strategic planning and asset management sectors at Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company. He began his career in public accounting with financial consulting firm Deloitte .
With an A.B. in Economics from Duke University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Washington, Black is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is also a member of NAIOP, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Seattle Council, the Seattle Society of CFA’s and the Washington State Society of CPA’s.
As a full-service commercial real estate firm, URG is an active developer in Seattle. In this development cycle, the company will deliver 1.6 million sq. ft. of office space and two hotels in the Seattle market. URG also acquired its first asset in Denver in 2015. In 2012, Joshua Green Corporation became the majority investor in Urban Renaissance Group.
Last month, URG also announced the acquisition of Portland-based Langley Investment Properties’ operating portfolio, bringing the company’s total operating platform to more than 10 million sq. ft. in Portland, Seattle and Denver—including more than two million sq. ft. in Portland and four major Class-A high-rise office tower assets.
