Burcin Moehring Joins the HDR Seattle Architecture Office
HDR welcomes Burcin Moehring, FAIA, as an Education, Science and Technology (EST) Principal based in the Seattle, WA, office. In her new role, Burcin will lead the advancement of best practices in the design of education and science facilities, supporting new ways of learning, teaching, and discovery.
Burcin’s expertise in lab planning and design will provide clients with innovative, strategic concepts for state-of-the-art laboratories, with a special emphasis on incorporating advanced sustainable design concepts. She will also focus on designing spaces for team-based and discovery-based learning, interdisciplinary interaction, and teaching and research integration, as well as integrating the technology and flexibility needed for today’s evolving learning environments.
Burcin began her career 25 years ago at Holabird & Root in Chicago, and during her 19 years there she worked with designers, lab planners, and programmers to develop a practice focused on higher education science facilities. She subsequently served as Director of Science and Technology at Legat Architects, where she led her team in designing and planning high quality science facilities.
