Linda Mortensen

Linda Mortensen has joined Stantec as a senior scientist in its environmental services practice in Bellevue. She will help implement a national sediment assessment and remediation program.

 

Mortensen’s expertise is in aquatic toxicology and sediment investigations. She started her career under contract for the EPA participating in several field sampling events and assessment team meetings at Region 1 Superfund sites. Her subsequent consulting experience has been spread nationally and has included field sampling, bioassay implementation and ecological risk assessments at multiple scales (screening, baseline and regional) for sites that have included Hunter’s Point Naval Shipyard, CA; Port of Valdez, AK; and Lower Fox River, WI. Recently she led one of the largest sampling investigations of PCBs and dioxins in shellfish in the Pacific Northwest. Currently, Mortensen is Stantec’s ecological services leader of the Holden Mine Remediation.

 

Mortensen received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and her master’s degree from Western Washington University. She is a Seattle resident.
