David Overcash

David Overcash, a technology and consulting industry veteran, is joining Revel Consulting as the full-service digital consultancy’s first chief commercial officer. In the role, Overcash will advance the firm’s technology offerings and partnership strategy, with a specific focus on commercializing solutions in digital marketing and experiences, commerce platform, advanced analytics and cloud migration. In addition, he will provide strategic guidance to the firm’s leadership team and collaborate directly with clients navigating the changing digital landscape. Overcash will report to Vikas Kamran, Revel’s CEO.

“Consulting firms of the future need integrated, multidimensional services powered by the underlying technology necessary to architect, implement and run true digital transformation initiatives,” said Kamran. “We’re combining Revel’s human-centered approach to business with a more robust portfolio of technology solutions to create more meaningful experiences for our clients and their customers across all channels, and there’s nobody better than David to lead the way.”

With deep expertise developing technology solutions and partnerships, David Overcash is perfectly positioned to expand Revel’s technology offerings at a time when companies are searching for new ways to solve the digital imperative. According to a recent report from Korn/Ferry, 75 percent of organizations are “not very confident” in their ability to execute digital transformation, and 84 percent of executives believe their organizations do not have the skills and capabilities required to deliver on their digital ambition.

“Technology is the ‘final mile’ of digital transformation that companies and consultancies alike struggle to travel,” said Overcash. “By building and integrating new technology services into Revel’s already-successful consulting model, our clients will go to market faster, with more agility and without the “legacy lag” that too often gets bundled in with big firms. That’s the advantage of a full-service born-digital consultancy, and that’s what we’re excited to bring to market.”

Throughout his 20-year career, Overcash has developed partnerships to create customized technology solutions with enterprise service providers and for middle market to Fortune 50 clients across multiple industries. In 2005, he co-founded Brightlight Consulting, a Big Data analytics consultancy, and served as the company’s chief technology officer and executive vice president. Brightlight was acquired by Sirius Computer Solutions in 2014, where he continued as managing director until 2015. During this time, from 2013-2015, he also served on IBM’s World Wide Big Data Analytics Advisory Board. Previously, he held leadership positions at Systech Solutions, a leading data strategy, management and analytics services provider, and Infogain, the enterprise IT solutions company.

In 2010, Overcash was named to the Puget Sound Business Journal’s annual 40 Under 40 list, and he currently serves as a board member of The Forty, an alumni network of successful, visionary, diverse and socially responsible 40 Under 40 honorees in the Greater Seattle area.

In addition to his technology expertise, Overcash is a dedicated advocate for community involvement. In 2015, he embarked on a mission to Guatemala with Medical Teams International, an experience that led him to temporarily leave the corporate world and start Golden Acts, an organization dedicated to capturing, creating and inspiring good deeds and kindness across the world. In parallel to this journey, while observing nature reemerging on his family’s farm, which was destroyed during the largest wildfire in the history of Washington state, he was inspired to create Project Phoenix, a unique initiative that provides a pathway for veterans to re-engage after active duty through a ranch, farming and community service lifestyle.

Overcash will continue his involvement with Golden Acts and Project Phoenix while stepping into his new role at Revel and hopes his experiences will inspire an even deeper commitment to community engagement among business and technology leaders.

“Very few firms practice what they preach when it comes to creating sustainable, successful communities – with their employees, for their clients, and in society at large,” continued Overcash. “Revel combines a human-centered, empathy-first philosophy with the drive and ambition to boldly lead the dynamically changing world of digital transformation, and the firm’s values are what make this opportunity to dive headfirst back into the business world so exciting.”

“David Overcash is the type of person our employees, clients and business partners want to work with at Revel,” continued Kamran. “While his technology prowess is unparalleled, he understands that people and values are what make business work. That’s a powerful punch, and one that will pay dividends as build Revel into the industry’s premier full-service digital consultancy.”
