Why Amazon Won’t Have To Put the Kindle on Life Support
By Seattle Business Magazine March 30, 2010
In doing our best to remain unbiased, here is an article explaing why the Kindle and iPad will be able to exist in harmony. Yes, there will probably be a few blow exchanged, but Scott Jacobson, a member of the Madrona Venture Group and former Amazon.com employee, thinks that the Kindle will hold its ground against a more comprehensive, but perhaps not as well adapted iPad.
“The Kindle is really good at what it does, and it doesnt need to do a whole lot more. There is a segment of the market (probably millions, maybe tens of millions, but not hundreds of millions) that will prefer a less-expensive device that does one thing really well. And that segment will continue to choose Kindle.”
