Nowell Ancheta

Nowell Ancheta has joined Stantec’s Lynnwood, Washington office as an electrical project designer focused on creating safe and reliable systems and meeting client needs.

Prior to joining Stantec, Ancheta worked as a nuclear electrical engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where he spent more than three years troubleshooting, maintaining, and retrofitting the US Navy aircraft carriers and submarines. Ancheta was instrumental in the significant overhaul of the USS SEAWOLF’s control and instrumentation system.

Ancheta earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a math minor from Seattle University. In his senior year, he participated in an “Engineers Without Borders” project, a concept to harvest the power of the Zambezi River and generate electricity for small villages without access to power. The team later traveled back to Zambia to install the system on the Zambezi River. With help from the local village, the team was successfully able to generate electricity and tie their system into an existing solar panel system and charge multiple car batteries.

Currently at Stantec Ancheta is working on the Amazon Gaucho tenant improvement project in Bellevue, Block 48 Core and Shell in South Lake Union, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center Psych Unit Upgrade in Reno, NV.
