Limeade Brings On Cliff Drane, Leading UX Design Expert

Consumer UX and Design Veteran Will Re-Envision User Experience

Bellevue, Wash., June 22, 2016 — Corporate wellness technology company Limeade today appointed Cliff Drane as its new vice president of user experience. Joining Limeade from Under Armour, Drane brings over 20 years of digital design and product leadership to the Limeade team. He will lead the user experience and research teams to continue innovating and reimagining the Limeade experience.

“Adding Cliff to our team demonstrates our commitment to delighting customers through smart technology people love,” said Henry Albrecht, Limeade CEO, who started Limeade in 2006 to improve well-being in the world. “Limeade has always been known for a modern user experience as a pillar of our innovation. With a proven leader like Cliff at the helm, we’ll be taking the Limeade experience to the next level of simplicity and delight.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining Limeade – to focus on improving well-being for our users and business outcomes for our customers,” Drane said. “My goal is to advocate for the user and to help create an even more meaningful and rewarding experience that people love and want to use. That’s the only way to get to the outcomes that really matter.”

Drane will report directly to Limeade CTO Erick Rivas. He is responsible for the user experience across all Limeade products. Drane will collaborate to optimize Limeade user flows, ensuring the most streamlined and effective paths for user success.

“I try to take a down-to-earth, research-based approach to UX. Our emphasis should be on how our users think and learn,” Drane said. “We’ll make smart, data-driven decisions about the Limeade experience, which will help us inspire people to incorporate the Limeade product into their daily lives.”

At Under Armour, Drane was vice president of design & UX for Connected Fitness, and played a driving role in helping tens of millions of users engage in healthy activities. Under Armour acquired MapMyFitness in November, 2013. While at MapMyFitness as both vice president of design and chief product officer, Drane built a design team, led a crucial redesign of the web and mobile products, instituted key product development process improvements, and helped build a registered user base of more than 25 million users.

Prior to MapMyFitness and Under Armour, Drane was a group creative director at the digital agency Razorfish. Drane earned his BFA in graphic communications from the University of Houston. He is relocating to Seattle with his family.
