James Tobin is Comcast’s new director of retail sales for the Washington region. Tobin brings 17 years of sales leadership experience to his new role, where he will lead sales and customer experience efforts for Comcast and Xfinity stores. As the director of retail sales, Tobin will oversee the company’s 17 retail stores across the Washington Region to help develop and implement strategic sales initiatives and business plans that drive long-term growth, and ensure all customers receive an exceptional service experience each time they visit a retail location. “Our retail stores are critical components of the customer experience, often acting as the face of our company,” said Amy Lynch, regional vice president of Comcast’s Washington region. “James’ passion for leading teams and delivering exceptional customer service, combined with his wide range of sales leadership experience, makes him a great fit for this vital position.”  In his new role, Tobin will work to establish the retail stores as a resource hub where people can learn about new products and services, have their questions answered, and receive the right products to meet their needs and budget. Tobin has held management roles at Comcast for five years, most recently serving as the senior manager for national accounts. In this role, hecoordinated key business operations and led teams that support the sale of Comcast products through third parties such as Best Buy and Walmart. Under his leadership, the team was named Retail Region of the Year in 2015. Prior to leading national accounts and indirect retail, Tobin was in the Xfinity Sales Professional (XSP) channel as the area sales manager in the southern region, where he oversaw the implementation of new organizational systems, developed sales and marketing strategies, and trained and led a team of four sales development managers and 60 XSPs. Tobin was born and raised in Yakima, Wash., where he graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1996. He and his wife, Laura, have lived in Lacey, Wash., since 2005 with their four kids and their 2-year old Jack Russell Terrier, Pepper. In his spare time, Tobin enjoys watching his kids compete in sports, going on hikes and visiting the beach with his family.
