Seattle Business salutes 2012 Leaders in Health Care

By Seattle Business Magazine February 24, 2012

Seattle Business magazine honored 21 of Washington states health care innovators, CEOs, hospitals and other organizations at the fourth Leaders in Health Care awards dinner Thursday night at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle.

More than 300 people attended the event, which featured a keynote speech by Dr. John Koster, CEO of Providence Health & Services. Koster said that medical care today is undergoing a major transformation comparable to the Industrial Revolution. The emergence of electronic medical record systems that link vast networks of hospitals creates for the first time, Koster said, the possibility to transform medical institutions from relatively static institutions to learning organizations that are constantly improving the way they provide medical care.

Rick Linneweh, longtime CEO of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, received the Lifetime Adhievement Award at the event. Click here for complete coverage.
