Board and corporate seats: Current member and former chairman of the Washington Wine Commission, a former president of the Wine Market Council and a former director of the Washington Wine Institute. In February 2009, Gov. Chris Gregoire named Baseler to the Board of Regents of Washington State University, his alma mater. He had previously served on the Board of Regents for two years before taking a hiatus while Ste. Michelle acquired Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in California. Baseler has served on several nonprofit boards including Seattle’s Children’s Hospital and Patrons of the Northwest Civic, Cultural and Charitable Organizations (PONCHO).
Passions: He is an ardent Cougar fan. “Let me tell you, at their games, you find Ted stalking the sidelines instead of up in the stands,” a friend says. He’s also a fan of skiing, golfing and fly fishing.
